1Sec. 1. Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to study impacts and
2risks of lead-based ammunition. Resolved: That the Department of Inland Fisheries
3 and Wildlife shall study the impacts on and risks to wildlife, humans and the environment
4 of using lead-based ammunition to hunt. The department shall consider and recommend
5 ways to minimize the risk to wildlife, humans and the environment posed by lead from
6 hunting ammunition and identify biological, social, economic, political and administrative
7 considerations. The department shall submit a report with findings and recommendations
8 to the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife no later than November
9 4, 2026. The joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over inland
10 fisheries and wildlife matters may submit a bill to the 133rd Legislature in 2027 relating to
11 the subject matter of the report.
12SUMMARY
13 This resolve directs the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to study the
14 impacts on and risks to wildlife, humans and the environment of using lead-based
15 ammunition to hunt and submit a report with findings and recommendations to the Joint
16 Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife no later than November 4, 2026.
