1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 8 MRSA §374, sub-§1, ¶K, as amended by PL 2011, c. 310, §7, is further
3 amended to read:
4 K. The manner and amount of compensation to be paid to persons licensed to sell
5 lottery tickets or shares necessary to provide for the adequate availability of tickets or
6 shares to prospective buyers and for the convenience of the general public. Rules
7 adopted by the commission must provide that a person licensed to sell lottery tickets
8 or shares is entitled to a minimum 10% sales commission for each instant lottery game
9 ticket sold and each draw or other terminal-generated game ticket sold;
10SUMMARY
11 This bill provides that rules adopted by the Department of Administrative and Financial
12 Services, State Liquor and Lottery Commission must provide that a person licensed to sell
13 lottery tickets is entitled to a minimum 10% sales commission for each instant lottery game
14 ticket sold and each draw or other terminal-generated game ticket sold.
