1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §14 is enacted to read:
3§14. Biological males' participation in female athletic programs and activities at
4schools that receive state funding
5 A school administrative unit or an elementary school, secondary school or
6 postsecondary educational institution in the State that receives any state funding may not
7 allow a person whose biological sex assigned at birth is male to participate in an athletic
8 program or activity that is designated for females.
9SUMMARY
10 This bill prohibits a school administrative unit or an elementary school, secondary
11 school or postsecondary educational institution in the State that receives any state funding
12 from allowing a person whose biological sex assigned at birth is male to participate in an
13 athletic program or activity that is designated for females.
