1Sec. 1. Department of Health and Human Services to reimburse hospitals
2after receipt of cost reports. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human
3 Services shall amend its rules in Chapter 101: MaineCare Benefits Manual, Chapter III,
4 Section 45, Hospital Services, to require the department to reimburse at least 75% of the
5 as-filed settlement pursuant to a hospital's cost reports within 90 days of receipt.
6Sec. 2. Existing resources. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human
7 Services shall implement the requirements of this resolve within existing resources.
8SUMMARY
9 This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services to amend its rules in
10 Chapter 101: MaineCare Benefits Manual, Chapter III, Section 45, Hospital Services, to
11 require the department to reimburse at least 75% of the as-filed settlement pursuant to a
12 hospital's cost reports within 90 days of receipt. It requires the department to accomplish
13 this within existing resources.
