1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 25 MRSA §2001-A, sub-§2, ¶A-1, as enacted by PL 2015, c. 327, §2, is
3 amended to read:
4 A-1. A handgun carried by a person who is 21 18 years of age or older and is not
5 otherwise prohibited from carrying a firearm or is 18 years of age or older and under
6 21 years of age and is on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States or the
7 National Guard or is an honorably discharged veteran of the Armed Forces of the
8 United States or the National Guard and is not otherwise prohibited from carrying a
9 firearm;
10SUMMARY
11 This bill removes the exception from the provisions of the Maine Revised Statutes,
12 Title 25, section 2001-A concerning the carrying of concealed weapons for handguns
13 carried by persons 18 years of age or older and under 21 years of age who are on active
14 duty in the Armed Forces of the United States or the National Guard or who are honorably
15 discharged veterans and allows a person who is 18 years of age or older who is not
16 otherwise prohibited from carrying a firearm to carry a concealed handgun.
