1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 38 MRSA §1603, sub-§2-A is enacted to read:
32-A. Prohibition on loose polystyrene packing material. After January 1, 2027, a
4 person may not sell or offer to sell in this State any product composed in whole or in part
5 of loose polystyrene pieces used for packing material.
6SUMMARY
7 This bill prohibits the sale of or offer for sale of loose polystyrene pieces used for
8 packing material, commonly called packing peanuts.
