1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and
3 allocations are made.
4PUBLIC SAFETY, DEPARTMENT OF
5State Police 0291
6 Initiative: Provides funding for 15 State Trooper positions, 9 State Police Corporal
7 positions and related All Other to enhance public safety in rural counties of the State and
8 to support county sheriff department efforts. Four corporals and 4 troopers would patrol
9 the Northern Field Troop area; one corporal and 3 troopers would patrol Aroostook County;
10 4 troopers and 4 corporals would patrol Somerset and Franklin counties; and 4 troopers
11 would patrol Androscoggin County.
