1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §6552, sub-§2, ¶D is enacted to read:
3 D. The prohibition on discharge of a firearm does not apply to a person acting pursuant
4 to Title 17-A, section 104, subsection 3.
5SUMMARY
6 This bill provides that the current prohibition on the discharge of a firearm within 500
7 feet of a school does not apply to a person acting pursuant to the laws governing the use of
8 force in defense of premises.
