1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 21-A MRSA §723-A, sub-§2, ¶A, as enacted by IB 2015, c. 3, §5, is
3 amended to read:
4 A. If there are 2 or fewer continuing candidates, the candidate with the most a majority
5 of the votes cast in that round is declared the winner of the election.
6SUMMARY
7 This bill provides that, for the purposes of ranked-choice voting procedure, if there are
8 2 or fewer continuing candidates, the candidate with a majority of the votes cast in that
9 round is declared the winner of the election.
