1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §6001-D is enacted to read:
3§6001-D. Surveys and questionnaires; parental permission
4 A public school, public charter school or private school approved for tuition purposes
5 may not administer to a student who is a minor a survey or questionnaire that asks or
6 identifies the student's full name without affirmative written permission from the student's
7 parent.
8SUMMARY
9 This bill prohibits a public school, public charter school or private school approved for
10 tuition purposes from administering to a student who is a minor a survey or questionnaire
11 that asks or identifies the student's full name without affirmative written permission from
12 the student's parent.
