1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §1755 is enacted to read:
3§1755. Automated external defibrillators
4 The Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Bureau of General Services
5 shall ensure that each state building is equipped with at least one automated external
6 defibrillator. As used in this section, "automated external defibrillator" has the same
7 meaning as in Title 22, section 2150-C, subsection 1, paragraph A.
8Sec. 2. 30-A MRSA §2007 is enacted to read:
9§2007. Automated external defibrillators
10 A municipality shall ensure that each municipal building is equipped with at least one
11 automated external defibrillator. As used in this section, "automated external defibrillator"
12 has the same meaning as in Title 22, section 2150-C, subsection 1, paragraph A.
13SUMMARY
14 This bill directs the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Bureau of
15 General Services to ensure that each state building is equipped with at least one automated
16 external defibrillator. It also directs each municipality to ensure that each municipal
17 building is equipped with at least one automated external defibrillator.
