AN ACT concerning 1

Firearms – Right to Purchase, Own, Possess, and Carry 2

FOR the purpose of providing that a person may not be denied the right to purchase, own, 3
possess, or carry a firearm solely on the basis that the person is authorized to use 4
medical cannabis; and generally relating to firearms. 5

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 11
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 12

A PERSON MAY NOT BE DENIED THE RIGHT TO PURCHASE, OWN, POSSESS, OR 16
CARRY A FIREARM UNDER THIS TITLE SOLELY ON THE BASIS THAT THE PERSON IS 17
AUTHORIZED TO USE ME DICAL CANNABIS UNDER TITLE 36, SUBTITLE 3 OF THE 18
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND CANNABIS ARTICLE. 19

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 20
October 1, 2026. 21
