FOR the purpose of requiring the Governor annually to proclaim a certain month as African 3
Heritage Month; requiring the proclamation to urge certain organizations to observe 4
the month wi th certain programs and activities; and generally relating to African 5
Heritage Month. 6

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 18

of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 7–506 through 7–508, respectively. 20

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland read 21

ORGANIZATIONS TO OBS ERVE AFRICAN HERITAGE MONTH WITH APPROPRIAT E 6
PROGRAMS, CEREMONIES, AND ACTIVITIES. 7

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 8
1, 2026. 9
