FOR the purpose of authorizing a holder of a barbershop and beauty salon license in Anne 4
Arundel County to provide a certain amount of liquor for on –premises consumption 5
in addition to beer and wine; and generally relating to alcoholic bev erages licenses 6
in Anne Arundel County. 7

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 18
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 19

This title applies only in Anne Arundel County. 2

11–1002. 3

(a) There is a barbershop and beauty salon beer [and], wine, AND LIQUOR 4
license. 5

(b) The Board may issue the license to a holder of: 6

(1) a barbershop permit issued under § 4–501 of the Business Occupations 7
and Professions Article; or 8

(2) a beauty salon permit issued under § 5–501 of the Business Occupations 9
and Professions Article. 10

(c) The license authorizes the license holder to provide TO A CUSTOMER DURING 11
ANY ONE VISIT not more than 12 ounces of beer [or], 5 ounces of wine by the glass, OR 1.7 12
OUNCES OF LIQUOR for on–premises consumption by a THE barbershop or beauty salon 13
customer: 14

(1) when the customer is being provided: 15

(i) a barbering service under Title 4 of the Business Occupations 16
and Professions Article; or 17

(ii) a cosmetology service under Title 5 of the Business Occupations 18
and Professions Article; or 19

(2) while the customer is attending a fund–raising event at the barbershop 20
or beauty salon. 21

(d) A license holder may serve beer [and], wine, AND LIQUOR for on–premises 22
consumption during normal business hours but not later than 9 p.m. 23

(e) A license holder need not obtain a Sunday license under § 11–2004 of this title 24
to provide beer [and], wine, AND LIQUOR on Sunday. 25

(f) The annual license fee is $100. 26

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 27
1, 2026. 28
