AN ACT concerning 1

Civil Actions – District Court – Enforcement of Money Judgments 2

FOR the purpose of repealing a pro vision prohibiting the District Court, in aid of 3
enforcement or execution of a certain money judgment, from ordering the appearance 4
of an individual for an examination or ordering an individual to answer 5
interrogatories; and generally relating to procedures for the enforcement of money 6
judgments in the District Court. 7

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 13
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 14

Article – Courts and Judicial Proceedings 15

The District Court may not, in aid of enforcement or execution of a money judgment 17
resulting from a small claim action under § 4–405 of this article, order an individual to: 18

(1) Appear for an examination; or 19

(2) Answer interrogatories.] 20

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 21
October 1, 2026. 22
