An Act revising the charter of the town of Millis, as amended
By Representatives Arena-DeRosa of Holliston and Vaughn of Wrentham, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3911) of James C. Arena-DeRosa and Marcus S. Vaughn (by vote of the town) relative to the charter of the town of Millis. Municipalities and Regional Government. [Local Approval Received.]

SECTION 1. The charter of the Town of Millis, originally adopted on May 2, 1977, as subsequently amended by Act of the General Court, is hereby amended by adding a new Section III-5(k), relating to additional authority of the town administrator as follows:

k. Shall have the power to approve all payroll and expense warrants for payment of town funds. Such approval shall be sufficient authority to authorize payment of the same by the town treasurer. In the event of the absence of the town administrator, the select board shall approve such warrants. If a vacancy exists in the office of the town administrator, the select board shall approve all such warrants, or, may delegate such responsibility to a temporary town administrator.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.

SECTION 3. The General Court may reasonably vary the form and substance of the requested legislation within the scope of the general public objectives of the Home Rule Petition; provided, however, that any such changes or alterations to the text of said legislation shall occur only following consultation with, and approval by of, the Town of Millis Select Board.
