Bill H.4244

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law or town by-law to the contrary, whenever the town of Hingham is required by a general or special law or town by-law to publish a legal notice in a newspaper of general circulation, the town of Hingham may utilize the alternative means of publishing said legal notice as provided in section 2.

SECTION 2. The town of Hingham may publish a legal notice on the bulletin board or electronic visual display outside the town clerk's office and: (i) in a local newspaper, in either electronic or paper format; or (ii) on the town's website. For the purposes of this section, the term "website" shall mean the official website of the town of Hingham that is operated and maintained by the town's municipal government.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
