An Act authorizing the town of Conway to continue the employment of fire department member Howard Boyden

Mark (by vote of the town) that the town of Conway be authorized to continue the employment of fire department member Howard Boyden. Public Service. [Local Approval Received.]

Bill H.4506

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Howard Boyden, a member of the Conway fire department, may continue to serve in such position until they reach the age of 70, the date of their retirement or the date they are removed or suspended from office, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that they remain physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of the position; provided further, that Howard Boyden shall, at the expense of the town of Conway, be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine such capability. No deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Howard Boyden pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service performed subsequent to his reaching the age of 65 in connection with his service to the town for retirement or pension purposes.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
