An Act amending the town of Arlington's means tested senior citizen property tax exemption
By Representative Garballey of Arlington and Senator Friedman, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 4575) of Sean Garballey and Cindy F. Friedman (by vote of the town) that the town of Arlington be authorized to further regulate the means tested senior citizen property tax exemption in said town. Revenue. [Local Approval Received.]

Bill H.4575

SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 285 of the acts of 2020 is hereby amended by striking out the last sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- The total amount exempted by this act shall be: (i) allocated proportionally within the tax levy on all residential taxpayers while not exceeding 1 per cent of the town’s tax levy; or (ii) funded by an appropriation or transfer from existing funds while not exceeding 1 per cent of the town's tax levy.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
