HOUSE BILL NO. 5812

A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 14o.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 14o. (1) The department shall not seek, apply for, 1
accept, or renew a waiver for work requirements under 7 USC 2
2015(o)(4) without first obtaining specific authorization from the 3
legislature. 4
(2) The department shall not exercise this state's option to 5
April 16, 2026, Introduced by Reps. Thompson, Kelly, Bierlein, Harris, Meerman and Aragona
and referred to Committee on Government Operations.
