HOUSE BILL NO. 5873

A bill to repeal 1993 PA 331, entitled
"State education tax act,"
(MCL 211.901 to 211.906).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Enacting section 1. The state education tax act, 1993 PA 331, 1
MCL 211.901 to 211.906, is repealed. 2
Enacting section 2. This act takes effect 90 days after the 3
date it is enacted into law. 4
Enacting section 3. This amendatory act does not take effect 5
unless House Bill No. 5880 of the 103rd Legislature is enacted into 6
law. 7

Enacting section 4. It is the intent of the legislature to 1
annually appropriate sufficient funds from the state general fund 2
to the state school aid fund created in section 11 of article IX of 3
the state constitution of 1963 to fully compensate for any loss of 4
revenue to the state school aid fund resulting from the repeal of 5
the state education tax act, 1993 PA 331, MCL 211.901 to 211.906. 6
