HOUSE BILL NO. 6013

A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 14n.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 14n. Beginning on the effective date of the amendatory 1
act that added this section, the department shall monitor Michigan 2
bridge card transaction data to determine extended out-of-state 3
transaction use of the Michigan bridge card. If the department 4
determines that an individual recipient's Michigan bridge card was 5

used outside this state for more than 90 consecutive days, the 1
department shall, subject to federal law, suspend the individual 2
recipient's Michigan bridge card until the individual recipient 3
contacts the department and verifies continued residency in this 4
state or eligibility for benefits. 5
