HOUSE BILL NO. 6072

A bill to amend 1913 PA 350, entitled
"An act to enable counties to establish and maintain public
hospitals, levy a tax and issue bonds therefor, borrow money and
issue bonds and notes therefor, elect hospital trustees, maintain
training schools for nurses, maintain nursing home facilities,
provide suitable means for the care of tuberculous persons, and to
make possible the ultimate establishment of an adequate supply of
hospitals,"
by amending section 17 (MCL 331.167).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 17. (1) The board of hospital trustees shall have power 1
to determine whether or not patients presented at said the public 2
June 10, 2026, Introduced by Reps. Frisbie, BeGole, Wozniak, Alexander, Bohnak, Cavitt, Roth,
Linting, Aragona, Schuette and Schmaltz and referred to Committee on Health Policy.

hospital for treatment are subjects for charity, and shall fix such 1
the compensation for care of patients other than those unable to 2
assist themselves, as the said board may deem considers proper, the 3
receipts therefor to be paid to the treasurer of said the county 4
and credited by him the treasurer to the hospital fund. 5
(2) The power of a board of hospital trustees under this act 6
is subject to the hospital financial assistance act. 7
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect 8
unless all of the following bills of the 103rd Legislature are 9
enacted into law: 10
(a) Senate Bill No. 95. 11
(b) House Bill No. 6071. 12
