A bill for an act

relating to employment; requiring employers that offer employees a monetary

parking benefit to offer equivalent benefits for other modes of transit; proposing

coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 181.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

[181.745] TRANSPORTATION BENEFIT PARITY REQUIREMENT.

(a) An employer that provides a monetary parking benefit to an employee must offer

the employee the option to receive, in lieu of the monetary parking benefit, a benefit of

equal monetary value for using modes of transit other than driving a personal vehicle.
