A bill for an act relating to children and families; appropriating money for a grant to Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches for site selection and property acquisition for a new services and supports facility. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; GREATER MINNEAPOLIS COUNCIL OF CHURCHES SERVICES AND SUPPORTS FACILITY. new text end new text begin $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of children, youth, and families for a grant to Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to acquire property for and to predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip a new services and supports facility in the city of Minneapolis to be used for establishing a dedicated food shelf and youth programming space. Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches may work with Southside Community Health Services for the use of the space.
