A bill for an act

relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a community center on the

White Earth Reservation.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

APPROPRIATION; WHITE EARTH BAND OF OJIBWE; COMMUNITY

CENTER.

$5,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner

of employment and economic development for a grant to the White Earth Band of Ojibwe

for design; site preparation, including demolition; construction; engineering; furnishing;

and equipping a community center on the White Earth Reservation that will provide space

for health, wellness, and community gathering opportunities to both Tribal and non-Tribal

members of the public. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until the project is

completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
