A bill for an act

relating to apprenticeships; modifying the registered teacher apprenticeship

competitive grant program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 16B.98, or any other law to the contrary,

the commissioner of labor and industry may provide advance payments of grants to grantees

under the registered teacher apprenticeship competitive grant program under Laws 2025,

First Special Session chapter 6, article 2, section 2, subdivision 8, paragraph (d). To qualify

for direct funding under this section, the commissioner of labor and industry must verify

that a reimbursement-based model would create a financial hardship for the grantee and

impede program implementation. This section expires December 31, 2027.
