A bill for an act relating to housing; modifying the appropriation for assistance to homeless families, those at risk of homelessness, or highly mobile families; amending Laws 2025, chapter 32, article 1, section 2, subdivision 8. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. Laws 2025, chapter 32, article 1, section 2, subdivision 8, is amended to read: Subd. 8. Homework Starts with Home 2,750,000 2,750,000 new text begin (a) new text end This appropriation is for the homework starts with home program under Minnesota Statutes, sections 462A.201, subdivision 2 , paragraph (a), clause (4), and 462A.204, subdivision 8 , to provide assistance to homeless families, those at risk of homelessness, or highly mobile families. new text begin (b) $1,000,000 of the appropriation for fiscal year 2027 is for a grant to the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority for the stable homes stable schools partnership, to provide housing stability and homelessness prevention services for families with school-aged children in the city of Minneapolis. Notwithstanding any guidelines, requests for proposals, scoring criteria, or competitive selection requirements, the agency must award a grant of $2,000,000 in fiscal years 2028 and 2029 to the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority for the stable homes stable schools partnership.
