A bill for an act

relating to agriculture; prohibiting the sale and use of paraquat dichloride; requiring

the commissioner of agriculture to collect and dispose of paraquat dichloride;

requiring a report; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter

18B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Beginning January 1, 2027, a person may not sell, offer

for sale, or distribute a pesticide containing paraquat dichloride.

REPORT; PARAQUAT DICHLORIDE.

By January 1, 2028, the commissioner of agriculture must report to the chairs and ranking

minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over agriculture finance

and policy on the use of paraquat dichloride in the state over time and the status of paraquat

dichloride in the pesticide supply chain.
