Appointments not confirmed within 30 days refusal
A bill for an act relating to state government; rejecting appointments not confirmed within 30 days; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 15.066, subdivision 3. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 15.066, subdivision 3, is amended to read: Subd. 3. Advice and consent time limit. (a) For appointments that require confirmation by only the senate, if the senate does not deleted text begin reject deleted text end new text begin confirm new text end an appointment within deleted text begin 60 deleted text end new text begin 30 new text end legislative days of the day of receipt of the letter of appointment by the president of the senate, the senate has deleted text begin consented to deleted text end new text begin rejected new text end the appointment. (b) For appointments that require confirmation by both the senate and the house of representatives, if deleted text begin neither deleted text end the senate deleted text begin nor deleted text end new text begin and new text end the house of representatives deleted text begin has rejected deleted text end new text begin have not both confirmed new text end an appointment within deleted text begin 60 deleted text end new text begin 30 new text end legislative days of the later of the day of receipt of the letter of appointment by the president of the senate or the day of receipt of the letter of appointment by the speaker of the house of representatives, the house of representatives and senate have deleted text begin consented to deleted text end new text begin rejected new text end the appointment. (c) This section does not apply to appointments to the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board under section 10A.02 .
