HOUSE BILL NO. 1005

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES 1
OF THE CITY OF GULFPORT TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
MAKING REPAIRS, RENOVATIONS, UPGRADES AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PARK 3
AREAS OF CERTAIN FACILITIES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the governing authorities of 8
the City of Gulfport, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs 9
associated with making repairs, renovations, upgrades and 10
improvements to the park areas of the facilities described in 11
Section 2, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending 12
June 30, 2027......................................... $ 500,000.00 13
SECTION 2. The money appropriated in Section 1 shall be used 14
for making repairs, renovations, upgrades and improvements to the 15
park areas at the following facilities: 16
(a) Jack and Florence Goldin Sportsplex.... $ 125,000.00 17
(b) 19th Street Community Center........... $ 125,000.00 18
(c) Gaston Point Recreation Center......... $ 125,000.00 19

SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 22
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 23
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 24
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 25
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 26
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 27
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 28
and after July 1, 2026. 29
