HOUSE BILL NO. 1338

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CATFISH ROW MUSEUM IN 1
VICKSBURG TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH CONSTRUCTING A 2
NEW EXTENSION TO THE MUSEUM, FURNISHING IT TO INTERNATIONAL 3
STANDARDS, AND EQUIPPING IT WITH INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE 4
FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Catfish Row Museum in 9
Vicksburg, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs associated with 10
constructing a new extension to the museum, furnishing it to 11
international standards, and equipping it with innovative 12
technologies for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and 13
ending June 30, 2027................................ $ 1,000,000.00 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
