AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE 1
AND ADMINISTRATION TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO THE UNITED WAY OF THE 2
CAPITAL AREA, INC., TO SUPPORT THE 211 MISSISSIPPI HELPLINE, A 3
STATEWIDE RESOURCE AND REFERRAL SERVICE THAT CONNECTS CALLERS WITH 4
A VARIETY OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE RESOURCES SPECIFIC TO THEIR 5
NEEDS AND GEOGRAPHICAL AREA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 8
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 9
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Finance and 10
Administration to provide funding to the United Way of the Capital 11
Area, Inc., to support the 211 Mississippi helpline, a statewide 12
resource and referral service that connects callers with a variety 13
of health and human service resources specific to their needs and 14
geographical area, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and 15
ending June 30, 2027.................................. $ 500,000.00 16
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 17
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 18
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 19
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 20

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 21
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 22
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 23
and after July 1, 2026. 24
