HOUSE BILL NO. 1356

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO MARSHALL COUNTY TO ASSIST 1
IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PLANNING, ENGINEERING AND 2
ENVIRONMENTAL NEEDS RELATED TO THE COMPLETION OF THE RED BANKS 3
ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to Marshall County, Mississippi, 8
to assist in paying costs associated with planning, engineering 9
and environmental needs related to the completion of the Red Banks 10
Road Improvement Project, an eight-mile stretch of Red Banks Road 11
connecting I-22 to Mississippi Highway 302, for the fiscal year 12
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................. 13

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue the 18

warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or 19
officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
