HOUSE BILL NO. 1358

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF BYHALIA FOR THE 1
PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING A NEW POLICE DEPARTMENT AND JAIL FOR THE 2
FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Byhalia, 7
Mississippi, for the purpose of paying costs associated with the 8
construction of new facilities for the police department and a new 9
jail for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 10
30, 2027...........................................$ 1,000,000.00. 11
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 12
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 13
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 14
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue the 15
warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or 16
officers in the manner provided by law. 17
