HOUSE BILL NO. 1506

AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 16 1
LOCATED IN KEMPER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "SAMUEL TISDALE 2
MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 16 5
located in Kemper County, Mississippi, commencing at a point to be 6
designated by the local governing authority within whose 7
jurisdiction the segment is situated, and extending for a distance 8
of approximately one (1) mile, is designated and shall be known as 9
the "Samuel Tisdale Memorial Highway." 10
(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect 11
and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment 12
of highway described in subsection (1) of this section. 13
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 14
and after July 1, 2026. 15
