AN ACT TO BRING FORWARD SECTION 23-15-1037, MISSISSIPPI CODE 1
OF 1972, WHICH APPORTIONS THE STATE INTO FOUR CONGRESSIONAL 2

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. Section 23-15-1037, Mississippi Code of 1972, is 5
brought forward as follows: 6
23-15-1037. (1) The State of Mississippi is hereby divided 7
into four (4) congressional districts below: 8
FIRST DISTRICT. — The First Congressional District shall be 9
composed of the following counties and portions of counties: 10
Alcorn, Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, DeSoto, 11
Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Lowndes, Marshall, Monroe, Pontotoc, 12
Prentiss, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Union, Webster; in Oktibbeha 13
County, the precincts of Self Creek/Double Springs, Maben and 14
*Sturgis/North Bradley. 15
SECOND DISTRICT. — The Second Congressional District shall 16

(2) The boundaries of the congressional districts described 75
in subsection (1) of this section shall be the boundaries of the 76
counties along such congressional district boundaries as the 77
boundaries of such counties existed on January 1, 2022, and the 78
precinct boundaries along such congressional district boundaries 79
as such precinct boundaries are contained in Census Bureau's P.L. 80
94-171 geographic support products provided for use with the 81
September 16th data deliveries officially called the "2020 Census 82
State Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171) Summary Files." 83
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 84
and after its passage. 85
