HOUSE BILL NO. 1795

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF 1
STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS 2
ASSOCIATED WITH MAKING REPAIRS AND RENOVATIONS TO TWO STUDENT 3
RESIDENCE HALLS ON THE CAMPUS OF ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE 4
FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated to the Board of Trustees of State 9
Institutions of Higher Learning for the purpose of assisting in 10
paying costs associated with making repairs and renovations to 11
student residence halls Revels Hall and Robinson Hall on the 12
campus of Alcorn State University for the fiscal year beginning 13
July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027............ $ 5,000,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue the 18

warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or 19
officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
