HOUSE BILL NO. 1802

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF 1
STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING 2
FUNDING FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY 3
AGRICULTURAL LAND-GRANT RESEARCH AND EXTENSION PROGRAMS FOR THE 4
FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated to the Board of Trustees of State 9
Institutions of Higher Learning for the purpose of providing 10
funding for the support of the Alcorn State University 11
Agricultural Land-Grant Research and Extension Programs for the 12
fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027 13

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue the 18

warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or 19
officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
