HOUSE BILL NO. 1803

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF 1
STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING 2
FUNDING TO ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE MISSISSIPPI SMALL FARM 3
AND AGRIBUSINESS CENTER FOR EXPANSION OF RESEARCH AND PRODUCTION 4
OF SHIITAKE MUSHROOMS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Development 9
Authority for the purpose of providing funding to Alcorn State 10
University for the Mississippi Small Farm and Agribusiness Center 11
for expansion of research and production of shiitake mushrooms for 12
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027 13

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
