HOUSE BILL NO. 1805

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF 1
STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING 2
FUNDING TO ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR ENHANCING CAMPUS 3
STEM-RELATED FACILITIES AND PROGRAMS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Trustees of State 8
Institutions of Higher Learning for the purpose of providing 9
funding to Alcorn State University for the purpose of 10
strengthening and enhancing campus Science, Technology, 11
Engineering and Medical (STEM)-related academic, research and 12
service programs and facilities for the fiscal year beginning July 13
1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027..................$ 1,500,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
