HOUSE BILL NO. 1866

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE 1
AND ADMINISTRATION FOR ALLOCATION TO KNOX ACADEMY IN ELLISVILLE TO 2
ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH IMPROVING, UPGRADING AND 3
EXPANDING ITS FACILITIES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Finance and 8
Administration for allocation to Knox Academy in Ellisville, 9
Mississippi, a private K3-6th grade school that combines 10
Montessori education with integrated therapy services for both 11
neurotypical or neurodivergent children, to assist in paying costs 12
associated with improving, upgrading and expanding its facilities 13
for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 14
2027................................................ $ 2,500,000.00 15
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 16
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 17
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 18
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 19

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 20
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 21
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 22
and after July 1, 2026. 23
