HOUSE BILL NO. 1872

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES 1
OF THE CITY OF ITTA BENA TO ASSIST IN PAYING STAFFING AND 2
PERSONNEL COSTS RELATED TO EMPLOYING TWO FULL-TIME CERTIFIED 3
POLICE OFFICERS, ONE FULL-TIME DISPATCHER POSITION AND ONE 4
FULL-TIME DEPUTY CLERK POSITION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the governing authorities of 9
the City of Itta Bena, Mississippi, to assist in paying staffing 10
and personnel costs related to employing two (2) full-time 11
certified police officers, one (1) full-time dispatcher position 12
and one (1) full-time deputy clerk position for the fiscal year 13
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027...... $ 140,000.00 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
