AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE MISSISSIPPI MILITARY 1
DEPARTMENT TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PURCHASING 2
LAND ADJACENT TO AND/OR NEAR CAMP SHELBY AND LOCATED IN FORREST 3
COUNTY AND PERRY COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF USING THE LAND FOR 4
TRAINING AREAS AND BUFFER ZONES AT CAMP SHELBY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 5
2027. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 8
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 9
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Military 10
Department to assist in paying costs associated with purchasing 11
land adjacent to and/or near Camp Shelby, and located in Forrest 12
County and Perry County, Mississippi, for the purpose of using the 13
land for training areas and buffer zones at Camp Shelby for the 14
fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027...... 15

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 17
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 18
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 19
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 20

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 21
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 22
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 23
and after July 1, 2026. 24
