AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES 1
OF THE TOWN OF BIG CREEK TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
PURCHASING FIRE TURNOUT CLOTHING AND A DEFIBRILLATOR FOR THE BIG 3
CREEK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the governing authorities of 8
the Town of Big Creek, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs 9
associated with purchasing fire turnout clothing and a 10
defibrillator for the Big Creek Volunteer Fire Department for the 11
fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027...... 12

SECTION 2. The funds appropriated in Section 1 of this act 14
shall be expended as follows: 15
(a) Fire turnout clothing................... $ 16,000.00 16
(b) Defibrillator............................ $ 2,500.00 17

SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 19
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 20
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 21
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 22
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 23
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 24
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 25
and after July 1, 2026. 26
