HOUSE BILL NO. 216

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF SPECIAL FUNDS TO THE 1
MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT SECURITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF 2
FUNDING SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE STATE FOR 3
THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury 7
to the credit of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security 8
not otherwise appropriated, to the department for the purpose of 9
funding Summer Youth Employment Programs throughout the state for 10
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027 11

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 13
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State Treasury to 14
the credit of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security 15
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 16
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 17
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 18
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 19

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 20
