HOUSE BILL NO. 301

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN 1
SUPERVISORS DISTRICT 4 OF WINSTON COUNTY TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS 2
ASSOCIATED WITH CERTAIN PURCHASES AND PROJECTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 3
2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the fire departments in 8
Supervisors District 4 of Winston County, Mississippi, listed in 9
Section 2 of this act to assist in paying costs associated with 10
purchasing new equipment for fire trucks, improving training 11
facilities, adding additional thermal imaging cameras and/or 12
replacing out-of-date equipment for the fiscal year beginning July 13
1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027...................... $200,000.00 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by Section 1 of this act 15
shall be distributed in equal amounts of Fifty Thousand Dollars 16
($50,000.00) to each of the following fire departments in Winston 17
County: Betheden Volunteer Fire Department, East Winston Volunteer 18

Fire Department, High Point Volunteer Fire Department, and 19

SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 21
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 22
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 23
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 24
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 25
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 26
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 27
and after July 1, 2026. 28
