AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES 1
OF THE CITY OF JACKSON TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
THE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF THE BRIDGE ON QUEENSROAD AVENUE NEAR 3
BEACON PLACE AND OVERBROOK ROAD AND OTHER BRIDGES AND SIDEWALKS 4
AND OTHER INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN THE BELAIRE NEIGHBORHOOD FOR 5
THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 8
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 9
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the governing authorities of 10
the City of Jackson, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs 11
associated with the repair of the bridge on Queensroad Avenue near 12
Beacon Place and Overbrook Road and the repair and maintenance of 13
other bridges and sidewalks and other infrastructure projects in 14
the Belaire neighborhood, which is the oldest middle class 15
neighborhood in the city, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 16
2026, and ending June 30, 2027..................... $ 1,000,000.00. 17
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 18
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 19
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 20

Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 21
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 22

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 24
and after July 1, 2026. 25
