HOUSE BILL NO. 4106

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES 1
OF THE CITY OF KOSCIUSKO TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
COMPLETING THE UPGRADE OF THE SEWAGE SYSTEM AND PURCHASING NEW 3
VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND NECESSARY EQUIPMENT TO 4
OUTFIT THE VEHICLES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the governing authorities of 9
the City of Kosciusko, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs 10
associated with completing the upgrade of the sewage system and 11
purchasing new vehicles for the police department and necessary 12
equipment to outfit the vehicles, as described in Section 2 of 13
this act, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending 14
June 30, 2027....................................... $ 1,100,988.00 15
SECTION 2. The funds appropriated by Section 1 of this act 16
shall be used by the city as follows: 17
(a) Completing the upgrade of the sewage system........ 18

(b) Purchasing and equipping six (6) new vehicles for 20
the police department................................. $ 322,788.00 21
TOTAL............................................... $ 1,100,988.00 22
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 23
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 24
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 25
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 26
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 27
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 28
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 29
and after July 1, 2026. 30
