HOUSE BILL NO. 4116

AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO CHARITY 1
PAYNE-WILLIAMS OF COAHOMA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 3
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and 4
completely restored to Charity Payne-Williams of Coahoma County, 5
Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector on June 23, 2003, 6
in Tunica County for the crime of Embezzlement, for which she was 7
sentenced to serve five (5) years within the custody of the 8
Mississippi Department of Corrections. 9
She was released on June 23, 2008 due to expiration of 10
sentence. The Legislature is informed that she has since 11
conducted herself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good 12
and lawful manner. 13
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 14
and after its passage. 15
